Battle Ready Bodywork

Integrative massage therapy for America’s military service members

Psychedelic Therapy & Trauma Healing

Too often, trauma healing is framed as a battle to be won in the mind—a mission to outthink the pain, override the symptoms, and emerge victorious through insight alone. In the military community, psychedelic-assisted therapy has become a kind of sacred promise: access the medicine, face the darkness, transcend the past. For some, it delivers. But for many—especially those whose trauma lives in the body as tension, flashbacks, panic, lethargy, and pain—it risks becoming another path of disconnection dressed up as healing.

Psychedelic journeys can be profound and life-altering. They can open spiritual doors and offer clarity that talk therapy rarely touches. 𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔𝒏’𝒕 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒍 𝒊𝒏 𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔—𝒊𝒕 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆. And if we don’t return to the body after those transcendent states, if we don’t learn to listen to its language of contraction and release, of heat and trembling and tears, we miss the most essential part of the work.

I’ve seen it many times: servicemembers who return from ceremony cracked open but still unable to sleep, to trust, to connect. They’ve accessed higher consciousness but not grounded safety. Their nervous systems are still on high alert and primed for action. What they need isn’t more medicine—it’s re-inhabiting their flesh, reconnecting to their body’s signals, learning again what safe feels like.

This is where caring for your body becomes vital. Not as pampering, but as presence. Quitting harmful substances and habits that undermine your higher self and destroy you from the inside out. Listening when your nervous system braces, softens, and speaks. Responding to, rather than ignoring, the prompting of your intuition.

Massage, when done with attuned and trauma-informed care, invites the body back into relationship with itself. It helps you stay in your skin when everything in you wants to leave.

Healing isn’t ONLY about expanding consciousness—it’s about restoring wholeness. And wholeness requires coming home to your body.
