To help my clients in the armed forces maintain minds and bodies that are battle-ready.
My name is Angel and I’m a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist in North Carolina. I am one of the only massage therapists worldwide to work exclusively with military, veterans and law enforcement. I specialize in treating pain associated with the military’s most common musculoskeletal injuries—things like low back pain, knee pain, plantar fasciitis and rucksack palsy, among others.
My greatest passion, however, lies in the management of neurological issues such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI, blast-induced neurotrauma, concussion, et al). My approach to treating these ailments is guided by the latest research in the areas of neuroscience and pain science. I use a varied combination of sensory experiences to down-regulate the sympathetic nervous system and encourage neuroplastic activity in the brain. My goal is to conduct clinical research on the efficacy of massage in the treatment of PTSD and TBI.
Even if you’re a soldier who doesn’t have any musculoskeletal or neurological issues, massage can benefit you. Compassionate touch fulfills many of our intrinsic human needs, both emotional and psychological. Additionally, massage helps regulate our body’s hormone levels to boost mood, improve sleep and enhance performance.
Let me know if you have any questions.
I look forward to working with you!
